Battle On the Bernard General Rules

• Each team will begin their pull on the Tug Master's go.

• There will be no knots or loops tied in the rope.

• A horn will sound at the start and end of each pull.

• Teams may not use cleats, of any kind, on their foot wear: plain shoes only.

• The winner of each pull will be determined by the longest amount of rope pulled from the starting point.

• Pulls will be for a duration of two minutes or until one side reaches the poles.

• Winner of the overall event will receive a team plaque and individual awards.

• The winning Mayor's Team will keep the BOB Pelican award in their city for one year.

• All decisions of the Lead Judges for each side and the Tug Master are final.

• The event will only be cancelled, due to inclement weather, only if it is agreed upon by the two Lead Judges and the Tug Master.

• An Awards Ceremony will follow the event with awards going for the following:

• 1st Place Mayors Challenge

• 1st Place Overall Champions

• 2nd Place Overall Champions

• 1st and 2nd Place Overall Champion Team - Individual Awards
